Meeting#254: Accident will happen…

0
Dear All,

How many accidents will happen in one’s life?
How many of them are desired or unexpected ?

Next meeting theme just comes out accidentally.
Come to the meeting and maybe you can find what you want for public speaking.

“Accidents will happen…”
“Accidents happen now and again, just when you least expect
Just when you think that life is okay, fate comes to collect
Accidents happen now and again, when people or trains get smart
If you don’t concentrate on the thing that you’re doing
Accidents will happen, just like that”

Never say never, sometimes there are no accidents in life.
Give it a shot, you may get what you want.

Will I see you “accidentally” ?

Cheers and best regards,
Tobie
VPE

Dear toastmasters and guests,
la la la la…. do re mi fa so la te
Does our theme this week–‘Songs in our heart’sound familiar to you?
‘Songs in our heart’ simply means the music always appears in your mind, also, we can call it the ’theme song’.
Beautiful songs touch our heart and remind us of our precious memories;
Sad songs help us express and relieve our feelings ;
Happy songs keep us energetic and  help to forget troubles.
What is your favourite song(s)?
Which song conquers you and you always sing in your heart?
Come and share with us your feelings and ideas!
Best wishes,
Tobie

Meeting#244 Date: 20/6/2011 Time : 7:00 pm – 8:40 pm

Theme: Building a Team

Let’s share the gorgeous instant comment from our General Evaluator of the meeting: Herbert Lee.

Because we’re running a little overtime-
I’ll try to shorten this evaluation rhyme.
Tonight this was certainly the place to be-
We started the meeting exactly at 7:03.
Our Toastmaster helped to set the tone
And reminded us all to switch off our phone.
Sonia helped to make the meeting really flow
And made guests feel like friends we just didn’t know.
Jane came up and spoke on tonight’s theme
And gave us ideas on how to build a team.
Toastmaster Sonia really fulfilled her role;
By introducing the speakers and filling in every hole.
We need to congratulate Rosa on her project ten – well done!
To do ten projects in a year – she’s our example – number one!
It was wonderful to see Rosa go from someone who was so full of fear
To someone who has become fluent, articulate and clear.
Sara inspired us all to have just one more look
And get a new understanding of the value of a book.
She inspired us all to look beyond our life
And help others to overcome their strife.
Americo painted us a story of a king and all his glory
And gave us a glimpse of some royal history.
The King’s Speech should inspire all of us to speak -
Because today’s world does not belong to the lowly and meek.
Milly‘s evaluation summarized Rosa’s experience and views
And reflected to the audience things we could use
Her advice to consolidate her points to a WORD-
Would make us all remember what all had heard.
Scarlet was forced at the beginning to amend
And retract the word customer with that of “a friend.”
Her advice to Sara was to modify her voice
Very sound advice – and an excellent choice.
Lena‘s comments were clear, concise and complete
She evaluated the speech without missing a beat.
The advice about visual aids is useful for all-
Don’t rely on them or prepare for a fall.
Ann had a great idea to let table topics follow our theme
And let us work in groups and speak as a team.
Something new is always a welcome change
It stretches our minds and increases our range.
Our facilitators did their jobs to a tee
The meeting went well – it’s easy to see.
Tonight was an excellent example of how a meeting that runs well;
Keeps us immersed – yet learning – like we were caught in a spell.
Overall our meeting went very well
So I have no further points to dwell
I hope the guests enjoyed tonight’s toon
We hope you’ll come again real soon!

Let’s see those vivid photos of the meeting…

Dear Fellow Toastmasters & Guests,

If you missed such a wonderful in-house contest, you still get another chance to join our Area G3 Humorous & Evaluation Contest, which will be held on Sept. 18. Don’t miss again the great chance to learn from our seasoned speakers!!

Indeed, have you ever done anything wrong which makes you feel regretable? Among them, how many are caused by your delayed response? Sometimes the delay of our response may cause the great loss and even the the loss of life!! On our coming meeting #227 on Sept. 6, we will slightly touch  on the relevant topic, as our meeting theme will be ”Why you come so late”.

You all and your friends are welcomed to attend our meeting as well as our coming area contest, and share with us your valuable opinions. See you all next Monday at the same time and venue.

Best regards,

Ann Chan

Dear Fellow Toastmasters & Guests,

It’s just entered into the new toastmaster term 2010/2011 and our officers team was newly formed last week. Why don’t you come to our meeting today and give our officers your limitless support and invaluable opinions for running the club successfully?

What are the highlights of our meeting #224? Theme: READY~? GO!!
